Bat Weight Comparison
Bat weight is one of the most important factors in cricket bat selection, influencing pickup, balance, bat speed, and how comfortably a player can control the blade through a shot.
Our weight comparison chart offers an indicative guide to the weight range of full-size short-handle bats, including GM NOW!, ToeTek and a single grip. Each bat has a slightly different range of weights, allowing us to offer a full spectrum of bats for individual players, from lighter-feeling options through to fuller profiles.
This chart, however, is just a guide. The scale weight can only tell part of the story. A heavier bat can feel much lighter thanks to weight distribution, balance and pickup, while a lighter bat may not always feel easier to play with if the balance does not suit your technique.
Since 1885, Gunn & Moore has been designing and manufacturing cricket bats in Nottingham. More than 140 years of bat-making experience has reinforced a simple principle: the best bat is not necessarily the lightest or the heaviest, but the one that feels balanced, picks up comfortably and gives the individual player confidence at the crease.
